Orlando, FL 2nd May 2012; Florida Knights are delighted to announce Ged O'Connor and Kevin Keelin to their full time coaching staff in Fort Myers. Both come with the highest pedigree as the Knights continues to provide a professional player development focused environment.
Ged O’Connor has been the Head Women’s Soccer Coach of the Saint Leo Lions for the last six seasons after being elevated from the position of assistant coach in 2006. He was the assistant coach at SLU for four seasons. In his short spell in charge, he has become the most successful coach in the history of the program, amassing a combined record of 77-29-7 and has led Saint Leo to the NCAA Tournament in five of his six years in charge, the Sunshine State Conference Tournament Championship in 2008, and most recently the 2011 Sunshine State Conference Championship.
O’Connor earned his MBA from Saint Leo University in May of 2004. He also now holds an NSCAA National Advanced National Goalkeeping License and the NSCAA Premier diploma. In addition, the Manchester, England native is also a member of the NSCAA coaching education staff, and is a member of the NCAA National Rankings Committee.

Kevin Keelan comes to the Florida Knights with a star studded background. After starting his impressive career with EPL team Aston Villa in 1960 Keelan moved to a few lower league clubs to gain first team experience. Current EPL side Norwich City made Keelan an offer he could not refuse.
In total, Keelan played 673 competitive matches for Norwich which remains the club record to this day. Keelan had a career spanning from 1963 through to 1980, and was part of some of the major events in the history of the Canaries. In the 1971-72 season Norwich City earned promoted to English football's top division for the first time. Keelan was also instumental in the League Cup campaigns of 1973 against Tottenham Hotspur (which was the club's first appearance at Wembley Stadium), and also in 1975 v Aston Villa.
Keelan was twice voted Norwich City Fans Player of The Year in 1973 and 1974, and was inducted into the Norwich City FC Hall of Fame in 2002.
Keelan finished his playing career in America with the Tampa Bay Rowdies in 1981. Keelan became assistant manager for the club through the 1981-1982 season and starting his pursuit of coaching licenses. In 1991 Keelan was announced as the Director of GK for the University of Tampa. Keelan continued his GK Coaching with MLS team Tampa Bay Mutiny in 1997.
