GPS Superstar Tommy Redding In More US Men's National Team Recognition
U.S. U-17 Men's National Team Travels with 18 Players to Montaigu, France, for 40th Mondial Minimes Tournament

 

Fort Myers, FL April 2, 2012; U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team head coach Richie Williams has named Florida Premier Soccer product Tommy Redding in an exciting 18-player roster for the 40th Mondial Minimes tournament in Montaigu, France. The U.S. Youth International will face off against the United Arab Emirates and Portugal. The U.S. U-17 Men traveled to France on Sunday, April 1.

The U.S. U-17 Men will face UAE at 6:15 p.m. local time (12 p.m. ET) on Wednesday, April 3, followed by Portugal at 6:15 p.m. local time on Thursday, April 5. Should the U.S. advance, the team will also play April 7 and 9.

Mondial Minimes is a 12-team tournament that features four groups of three teams each. Group A is made up of host France, Cameroon and Mexico. England, Morocco and Japan make up Group C, and Group D is comprised of Russia, Ivory Coast and China.

Redding has been an integral part of the U-15 FC America Premier team this season helping them to a 3rd place finish in Region III Premier League. Redding also captained the team to 1st place in The Disney Soccer Showcase and a USL Super-Y League North American title. FC America U15 Premier are currently ranked 18th in the nation.

Redding, born in 1997 and a freshman from Oviedo High School, is the second youngest member on the roster with the current crop of U.S. U-17 players, mostly born in 1996. All 31 players will be competing for a starting position for the upcoming CONCACAF qualifying tournament and FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2013.
